Gopa Kuteeram

Overview

Established in 2007, Seattle’s Gopa Kuteeram center serves children aged 5 to 13 through a hybrid teaching model. The region is known for integrating festivals, art, and craft into the curriculum, making spiritual learning both tangible and engaging. Children not only learn slokas and stories, but also express their devotion through creative forms such as music, drama, and visual art. A defining aspect of Seattle's program is its strong culture of giving back—students are actively involved in community engagement and service. One of the region’s unique highlights is the Dancing Peacock Puppet Company, run entirely by the kids, where they stage string puppet shows that blend fun with values-based storytelling. Many teen and adult alumni return as volunteer teachers, mentoring the next generation. In a significant milestone, all GK clubs this year will be led by teen Gopa Kuteeram students, showcasing the region’s deep investment in youth leadership and continuity.
